This poem has been inspired by watching the tea leaves steeping in hot water and gently unfurling and
releasing its amber essence to the surrounding water in an almost surreal display of slow motion drama!
” Unfurling its leaves in heated torment,
bleeding its treasure in silent lament,
Releasing its nectar into a cup, behold!
like the soul departing from its earthly hold,
A marvel of nature brought to life through labor,
Its pain and joy revealed in flavour,
To drink from this brew born of nature’s drift,
Is to celebrate a moment of life , its love , its gift.”
